Treatment reports detail work undertaken on the object by the conservator. It is an important document for the client to hold, for information on the object and as a future reference of work undertaken. Client requirements guide the contents of the report. - Object identification – material type, measurements, date, maker
- Detailed description of the object condition prior to treatment
- Identification of any past conservation treatments
- Information on preliminary tests, if required
- Description of the treatment proposal
- Description of the conservation treatment carried out – method, materials used and result
- Annotated photographs taken before, during and after treatment.
- Aftercare recommendations for the object’s environment, handling, storage and display
Client consent is sought before any images are used for social media and website purposes.
